To our current 2008 Cobo Cup leader Smoke 20,

Last year at this time (race #16) our 2007 Cobo Cup leader was Turbo Taylor with 14,084 points. This years Cobo Cup leader after race #16 is Smoke 20 with 14,790 points. That’s 706 more points scored from last years leader.

Turbo Taylor was only 61 points ahead of second (Boyfriends) after race #16 where as Smoke 20 is 289 points ahead of second. Turbo Taylor gave up the lead to Boyfriends the very next race, race #17 at Loudon then re-took the lead at Daytona. Our 2007 Cobo Cup Champion (Manxman) at race #16 was in 6th place, 562 points behind the leader Turbo Taylor. It took Manxman 18 races to finally catch and pass Turbo Taylor then 2 races later took first place and won the $3,000 check and raise the Cup in November. Thirteen is 544 points behind our leader at race #16 and in 7th place. Interesting! Will they be our 2008 Champ?
